Destin: A Story of Hope

Recently, a student-reporter for VOICE (a community newspaper for NE Central Durham) spent time with our Urban Hope Navigator staff to understand how lives are being changed in the neighborhood they live and minister in Walltown.

The Urban Hope story is best told through the voice of Destin, who has been discipled and mentored throughout his involvement with the Urban Hope Summer Camp, Bible Jump-Off, and Young Leader's Group. Currently, Destin is in college at North Carolina Central University as a Centennial Scholar. Destin's journey illustrates our mission statement so well:

"Urban Hope is raising up generations of young heroes who are beating the odds by the grace of God through creating safe places in our neighborhood to grow together into wholeness."
