Multi-Cultural Conference in Houston

From July 22 to 26, 2013, the Houston Metro Ministry represented The Navigators at the multicultural "Unique Student Conference."

This was a collaboration of churches from Texas to engage in Inner City Missions around Houston. Nightly, the 400-plus students attended seminars, worship, and focused messages. Chuck Lloyd of Metro, Steve Stahl of Church Discipleship Ministry, and Bill Voisin of Metro/NavVida shared discipleship principles and Nav materials as they interacted with students, pastors, and youth workers at The Navigators' booth.

This proved an excellent opportunity to share about discipleship with many of the students as well as pastors and youth workers. During the meetings, some 80 students received Christ for the first time, and many more committed themselves to serving the Lord faithfully going forward.

On August 24, 2013, there was a follow-up conference, in which a team of Navigators had the opportunity to present several workshops concerning strategies around the theme of "Continuing in the Word" (John 8:31).
