Navigators Neighbors Initiative Denver 2019

This is an invitation to audacity—
to believe that the gospel is transformative today,
and that God’s Spirit is at work in the particularity
and uniqueness of our neighborhoods.

Summary of the Initiative

There is an amazing movement of love, compassion, and restoration springing up in the everyday life
of neighborhoods all over North America. The Navigators Neighbors Initiative is your invitation to develop the practices and partnerships you need for joining in on what God is doing in the place you live.

This initiative is a collaborative partnership between the Navigators Neighbors Mission and Parish Collective that will develop your capacity for living out the gospel naturally and relationally in your locality. You will learn practical ways for growing faithful presence, fostering missional engagement, and leading with others in transformative discipleship in the neighborhood. The practical training includes:

  • Neighborhood tours to enhance our understanding through those living out a faithful presence in their context
  • Small-group interaction focused on sharing personal stories and experiences
  • Think-tank sessions with storyboarding exercises

Navigators Neighbors Initiative Denver will both challenge and affirm you as you follow the One who “became flesh and blood, and moved into the neighborhood” (John 1:14, MSG).
Come develop the practices and partnerships you need for joining what God is doing in the place you live.

There are three required three-day intensives throughout the year:

Intensive 1 – January 25-27, 2019
Theme: Growing Your Personal Practice

Intensive 2 – May 31-June 2, 2019
Theme: Adaptive Leadership in the Neighborhood

Intensive 3 – September 13-15, 2019
Theme: Linking Locally and Beyond

All sessions begin on Friday at 4:00 p.m. and end on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. There is some preparation—such as reading a book and writing a short paper—prior to each of the three intensive sessions.
