WHO WE ARE
Like you, we are regular, everyday people. We may live in an urban center or a rural Midwest town, but we share one common desire: to make Jesus known through authentic, loving relationships right where we are. We long to see, raise up, encourage, and strengthen disciplemakers as they engage deeply with the people nearest them in the places they live. We do not have all the answers, but we are on a journey to discover and reveal God’s Kingdom hidden within the ordinary places of our lives.
What if over the coming years you increasingly find yourself joining the Lord and others in falling in love with the people and places right where you live, work, worship, and play? What if you slow down to truly see the diversity in your community and hear the stories of your place? We long to see people of Jesus who are moved by a heart of compassion connecting in meaningful ways to the people nearest them. We believe simple connections can lead to mutual transformation. Journeying together with others in our neighborhoods and communities can awaken you to the restoration process of God’s Kingdom.
Our prayer is that a network of neighborhood practitioners will spring up, from rural America to urban cities–neighbors who are committed not just to the people in their place, but also to the very geography of where they live. Our goal is to help train and support those neighborhood practitioners who share in this vision. Over the next few years, we hope to expand our training opportunities to ordinary people across the country. We are working diligently with people who have years of “neighboring” experience for them to share their wisdom and ideas in different formats.
Whether you are are a motivated individual or an established group working toward the same vision, we want to help strengthen and encourage you. The journey of neighboring can be long and tiring but it does not have to be lonely. Please reach out to us so we can walk with you.
WHAT WE DO
We are a network of people scattered across the country who are committed to helping everyday people communicate the Good News in their natural contexts. We believe in the importance of people and places. We offer a variety of ways to help others learn to deepen their commitment to their local community. Whether you are just starting or have been engaged within your community for decades, we can help you by providing encouragement and training for disciplemaking in your neighborhood.
We are an international, interdenominational Christian ministry established in 1933. Our mission is to advance the gospel of Jesus and His Kingdom into the nations. We equip people through Life-to-LifeTM mentoring—or discipling—relationships and equip them to do the same for others.
